Nawatech had the honor of participating in the 49th Annual Scientific Meeting of HAGI (Himpunan Ahli Geofisika Indonesia), held in Padang, West Sumatra, from September 25–28, 2024. This annual gathering of geophysics professionals, students, and technology innovators was the perfect stage for Nawatech to showcase the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) in advancing geoscientific exploration and research.
In collaboration with Microsoft, Nawatech hosted an interactive booth where participants—ranging from students to seasoned geology experts—got hands-on experience with Azure Machine Learning Operations (MLOps). Through live demos and one-on-one sessions, w
e explored how modern ML tools can accelerate data analysis, improve seismic interpretation, and enhance decision-making in the energy and environmental sectors.
A key highlight of the event was engaging with young geophysicists and students. Many were eager to understand how AI can support their academic and fieldwork activities. Nawatech’s team explained the fundamentals of MLOps pipelines, real-world examples of predictive modeling, and the role of cloud infrastructure in modernizing geoscience.
Throughout the conference, Nawatech had meaningful conversations with professionals from academia, government, and industry about the future of technology in geoscience. From data integration challenges to deploying AI in remote areas, the event provided fertile ground for ideas, collaborations, and inspiration.
